Honest Tea For Kid s -

Weekly Classes In Glendale, California To Quickly Improve Learning And Behavior
Each class is a unique experience of brewing different tea varieties to perfection and will include fascinating stories and tea legends. There is so much to appreciate about tea including the color, fragrance, and taste. We will be looking at the subtle differences each variety of tea produces. This develops the children's appreciation for detail and subtleties.

In addition to basic social skills
such as sitting up straight, paying attention, speaking positively, smiling, etc, kids will develop traditional etiquette instilled within the art of Chinese tea as cultivated by Buddhist and Taoist monks. Kids will learn fascinating stories and history of how tea came about and is now the #1 healthy beverage in the world. Get kids into good habits from a young age.

We also discuss and practice good work ethics, respect, consideration, tolerance, and morals. These are essential for every child's self confidence and success in life.

I guide their young minds to discover the right way and the wrong way to maneuver through situations such as sharing, interrupting, and taking turns. I encourage the kids to think about how their actions affect others. This further conveys that rewards, such as smiles, love and friendship, come as a result of behaving in a proper manner. Ultimately, everyone feels better about themselves when respect and courtesy are used.

Samples of Tea etiquette they will learn:
As a host

  • Use complete, clean tea sets. Preheat the teapot by adding hot water in advance.
  • Hold the teapot lid when pouring the tea if you are a novice.
  • No matter what size the tea cups are, only fill them 2/3 full.
  • Always place the tea cups at the guest's right hand.
  • Add more tea when the guest has finished almost 1/2 of the tea.
  • Always use two hands to serve tea.
  • Always serve from the right side of the guest.
  • Never fill or refill your own cup until all the guests' cups have been filled or refilled.
  • Always set down the teapot with the spout facing away from anyone.
As a guest
  • Say thank you and use two hands to accept the tea cup from the host. In a formal situation, you might need to stand up and take the cup.
  • Use two hands to pass the tea cup to the guest or your friend.
  • Take small sips when drinking tea. The slower you drink, the more you can enjoy the flavor, the more you will enjoy the tea.
  • If there are tea leaves floating in your cup, gently blow them out of the way before sipping. Please Don't eat them or spit them out.
  • When the host adds tea to your cup, use a properly gesture to show your appreciation. For example Chinese use index finger and middle finger to tap the table beside their cup to indicate "please I want some more" when you are offering to pour for them, or to indicate "thank you" when you are pouring of have just finished pouring.
  • In some areas of China, if you drink all the tea in your cup, it shows you don't want any more.
There are other incredible perks to all of this. Tea is proven to improve concentration, focus, and mental stamina. It is known as "Nature's wonder drug". The ability of tea to promote good health has long been believed in many countries, especially Japan, China, Europe, India, and even England. It is proven helpful for kids to calm their nerves, sooth upset stomachs, stimulate digestion, improve blood circulation, lower cholesterol, and more.
