It is becoming more common knowledge that Qigong is proven effective for achieving natural health and well being. Happy Sun Qigong is especially supportive for families and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder's; Asperger's, PDD-NOS, HFA, Retts, ADD, and ADHD. Daily practice of Happy Sun Qigong can help to restore sensory nervous system imbalances. Here is how. You will learn a combination of these 3 core therapies:
  1. Qi Rejuvenation and Relaxation
  2. 5 Element Vibrational Sound Toning
  3. Body Toning with Self Massage
These 3 therapies were originally created decades ago for detoxification, regeneration, and raising the vitality of the individual as a whole. The techniques are now adapted to fit our modern lifestyle. They are profoundly simple, and practical lending to its effectiveness. For millennia in China, and Tibet, variations of the 3 core therapies of Happy Sun Qigong have been used to treat a wide variety of children’s illnesses ranging from sleep and digestive problems to mental retardation.

"Jimmy Allen has been able to unlock our child’s innermost being and allow her to grow on many levels in a very short period of time. She now is achieving and is positive about her future." Septimus – Verde Valley, AZ

Happy Sun Qigong is safe. It has been successfully taught to children and families in the U.S. for over 10 years without any reported negative side effects.
The techniques are done while sitting, so it's easy on the back and people of all ages can join in! The entire exercise takes only 15 - 45 minutes depending on the variation and level of intensity desired. Those who are introduced to this practice typically feel a natural inner-smile and sense of peaceful happiness nearly instantly... children often begin to giggle or laugh with enjoyment.

Parents should do Happy Sun Qigong with their children, but ultimately the goal is for children to practice on their own as well as in a group. Some children learn it easily from the beginning, while others may need extra assistance. One of the keys to getting results is consistent practice. Just like medicine a doctor prescribes, if the techniques are not practiced according to the recommendations, the results may not be as promising.

Group practice builds an even more powerful field of energy that in itself is healing and empowering. Therefore, we suggest both group practice and individual or family practice for maximum benefits.

The Qigong Institute promotes education and research about the effects of qigong.

From the Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective,
just as nature contains air, sea and land, the human body is comprised of energy (qi). Energy is the animating force that gives us the capacity to move, think, feel, play, and work. Moisture is the liquid medium that protects nurtures and lubricates tissue. Blood is the material foundation out of which we create bones, skin, nerves, muscle and organs.

Energy, moisture and blood circulate within a web of pathways called energy channels (meridians) that link together all parts of the organism. Health exists when adequate energy, moisture and blood flow smoothly. All mental, emotional, or physical illness is understood as a consequence of either depletion or congestion of energy, moisture or blood. The 5 functional systems are directly connected with our emotions, thoughts, and feelings. By tonifying and harmonizing these systems with Happy Sun Qigong we are restoring vitality to our body, mind, and spirit. This is a natural process of rejuvenation.

Autism Spectrum Disorder and other sensory nervous system problems
occur in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls. Autism, also known as PDD Autism, high functioning autism (HFA), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and Aspergers syndrome, all fall under the pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) umbrella.

Autism and other PDD's impair a person's ability to communicate and relate to others. It is also associated with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors, such as obsessively arranging objects or following very specific routines. Symptoms can range fro
m very mild to quite severe. Click here for the latest autism statistics

According to Chinese Medicine, one of the causes of autism and other PDD's lies with the sensory nervous system. From the moment of birth, we learn about the world through our senses. We alternate periods of alertness with periods of rest. Our senses allow our brain to connect with our body and our world. When our senses are engaged, we focus and pay attention. When our senses are not engaged, we daydream.

Now there is an effective way to balance the sensory nervous system and help restore health and vitality that is available to all people.

Most experts agree that behind developmental delay and behavioral problems seen in children with autism lies a sensory nervous system that is out of balance – the child’s skin, eyes, ears and nose simply don’t perceive their own body and the events of family life the same way the rest of the family does. Things that should feel good, don’t feel good (e.g. running water, swimming, warm clothes, hugs, good food), and things that hurt, don’t seem to hurt (e.g. cuts, scrapes, burns). The result is that either the child doesn’t notice what is going on around them, or they try to avoid it because it is uncomfortable. This means they miss out on normal daily living, they struggle to learn, and suffer through everyday social situations.

Qigong has been used in China for thousands of years
to treat a variety of children’s ailments.  Now, there is a qigong (pronounced "chee-gong") program
that fits the specific needs of families and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder's, Asperger's, PDD-NOS, Retts, ADD, and ADHD. Qigong can quickly reduce symptoms, and set in motion a restoration of mental, physical, and emotional balance.

Does Qi Really Exist?
Qi, subtle bio-energy, definitely exists; without it, we would just be a lifeless body. It’s the combination of the chemical, magnetic, and bio-electric energies of our cells. Qigong therapists will tell you that qi is more than just physiology, but this simple explanation gives a reasonable definition that the scientific mind can accept. Furthermore, acupuncture and qigong have been around for about 3000 years, can that much history be wrong?

In further scientific research, qigong has been proven to correct sensory problems in five months or less. Within a few months, children are calmer, more aware of what is going on around them and more comfortable. As the stress and confusion caused by the sensory problems disappear, autistic behavior and other symptoms decrease, and along with it the child’s whole system begins coming back into harmony. Children are better able to focus, pay attention, and learn to enjoy responsible social living.

"The most profound medicine is produced in the human body for free. American society is based on self reliance -- everywhere except healthcare."  - Dr. Roger Jahnke

"Tai Chi and Qigong will play an important role in global awakening" - Eckart Tolle

"Thirteen adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) participated in Tai Chi Qigong classes twice a week for five weeks. Teachers rated the children's behavior on the Conners Scale during the baseline period, after the five-week Tai Chi Qigong session period, and two weeks later. After the ten Tai Chi Qigong sessions, the adolescents displayed less anxiety, improved conduct, less daydreaming behaviors, less inappropriate emotions, and less hyperactivity. These improved scores persisted over the two-week follow up . . ." (Hernandez-Reif).

"Every molecule, cell, living body, and object is comprised of energy that manifests as physical matter. Some of that energy is detectable as frequencies that belong to one or more radiation bands in the electromagnetic spectrum. And these frequencies correspond to biochemical and biological processes in the body." -  Nenah Sylver, PhD. in Healing with Electromedicine and Sound Therapies, Part One. Townsend Letter - February/March 2008.
